The mindset of such is the attempt by the movement campaigned America On The Move is one of the founders of obesity expert James O. Hill, Ph.. D. "We have to leave the era of extreme dieting. Caring for health is more important than losing weight," he said.

Fortunately, the campaign has not bother to deliver its mission. Because, in a recent research reported that more than half of Americans (68%) said that their main goal with diet dieting because they feel better. Only less than half are on a diet solely to reduce waist circumference.

To maintain ideal body weight, diet expert Lisa Drayer recommends three things: eating right, more mobile and multiply milk. Dieters who regularly consume low-fat milk or fat-free every day proved capable of maintaining a healthy weight and of course they have a more healthy body than those who do not routinely meninum milk.

"People often want a big change and fast. And it would be better if they make small but sustainable changes in the long term. Change this attitude and focus on simple changes that can lead us to a healthy lifestyle," said Drayer

Easy Fast Weight Loss Ideas

In today's world, where everybody is getting conscious about looking good, it has become all the more necessary to keep oneself in shape. If you have a good figure, not only it enables you to flaunt your body, but also it helps in boosting your confidence level. For some people, obesity becomes a serious cause of concern, thus affecting their mental fitness.

There are several reasons as why some people are overweight. It is interesting to know that your metabolism rate has a major impact on your weight loss program. People with low metabolism have a hard time in losing weight because of their slow metabolism fat gets stored in their bodies. There are some people who suffer from the problem of hormonal imbalance, but one of the major causes of obesity in people is their unhealthy eating habits and inadequate exercising.

Given here are some easy and fast weight loss ideas:
  • Make water your favorite drink. A person must have a minimum of 8 glasses of water in a day. Avoid taking soft drinks or carbonated beverages; moreover replace them with water. Water helps in reducing weight in the most effective manner.
  • Don't stuff yourself with food in a single sitting; instead have 5 to 6 small meals or snacks in a day. Eating several small meals helps the body to release less insulin, which keeps blood sugar steady and helps to control hunger.
  • Make a habit of walking. Instead of driving car to the nearby market, prefer walking down. Walking is more important for people in sedentary jobs. Walk for at least 45 minutes every day; it helps in burning extra calories.
  • Keep small plates for serving food because a study shows that the less food put in front of us, the less food we'll eat. So downsize your food plates and coffee mugs, and say goodbye to those extra calories.
  • Eat more vegetables during meals as water-rich foods like zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers reduce your overall calorie consumption. Some other water-rich foods include soups and salads; they are good source of nutrition.
  • Use vegetables to make hefty meals. Like pasta salad loaded with vegetables like broccoli, carrots, and tomatoes can be eaten twice. Same applies for stir-fries; add vegetables to make a fluffier omelet.
  • Avoid taking white foods as they contain large amounts of carbohydrates, which may further lead to weight gain. Replace white sugar, white rice, and white flour with whole grain breads and brown rice.
  • Switch to ordinary coffee because coffee drinks at shops has extra calories, owing to whole milk, whipped cream, sugar, and sugary syrups. A cup of regular coffee, having skim milk brewed with good beans, tastes great and moreover has fewer calories.
  • Use skimmed milk as it is high in calcium and low in calories. For coffee, use nonfat powdered milk.
  • Prefer eating cereal for breakfast five days a week. Following this, you will consume more fiber and calcium, and less fat than those who eat other breakfast foods.
  • Prefer having meals at home. We're more likely to eat more - in fact, more high-fat, and high-calorie foods- when we eat out than eating at home.
  • Try to eat slowly and put your fork or spoon down after every bite. Drink water often and talk about your day with your partner. If you eat slowly, you would feel contended with your meal.
  • Eat only when your stomach wants food. Usually out of boredom, nervousness, habit, or frustration; many of us unnecessarily have food. If you want to have something specific, it's probably a craving, not hunger.
  • Prefer flavorings like hot sauce, salsa, and Cajun seasonings rather than butter and creamy or sugary sauces. These flavorings not only provide flavor with no fat and few calories, but the spicy ones also turn up digestive fires, causing your body to burn more calories.
  • Eat fruit rather than drinking fruit juice. Eating whole foods will keep you satisfied for longer period of time than juice. Moreover, fruit juices are very high in calories.
  • Eat equal portions of vegetables and grains at dinner. A cup of cooked rice or pasta has about 200 calories, while a cup of cooked veggies has just 50 calories. This will help to avoid a grain calorie overload, and high-fiber veggies will help satisfying your hunger.
  • After every two hours, get up and walk around the office or your home for five minutes. A brisk five-minute walk after every two hours will you're your body active.
  • Once a week, make a habit of washing something thoroughly - could be floor, windows, shower cabin, bathroom tiles, car, etc. It helps in burning out about four calories for every minute spent in cleaning.
  • Take a walk before dinner and it'll not only burn calories, but also cut down your appetite.
  • Prefer not eating with a large group as we tend to eat more when we eat with other people, probably because we spend more time at the table. When eating in groups take a note of time and leave the plate, as and when you have had enough.
  • Skip watching TV for an hour and go for a walk instead. Or else, you have now time to finish your domestic chores.
  • Take most of the calories before noon because studies tell that the more you eat in the morning, the less you'll eat in the evening. Moreover, you will get more chances to burn off those early-day calories than late-night calories.
  • Order alcohol by the glass, not the bottle. This way, you'll be more aware of how much alcohol you're intaking. Alcohol is high in calories, however moderate drinking can be good for your health.
  • Stock your refrigerator with low-fat yogurt. Cut down 500 calories a day from your diet and eat yogurt three times a day for 12 weeks. It will help you lose more weight and body fat.

How to Build a Home Gym on the Cheap

Going to the gym can be expensive. Some monthly gym memberships charge as much is $99 per month or more not including exorbitant setup fees of often hundreds of dollars. Even those much less expensive gyms that are in the $40 per month range can certainly add up over time especially if you factor in the amount of gas you use back and forth on each trip. Not only are they expensive, they can also be inconvenient. A majority of individuals who sign up for gym memberships never end up sticking to the workout routines because it can be so hard to fit going to the gym into your daily schedule. This makes building a home gym a perfect solution for many people.

Now, building a home gym does not have to be an expensive endeavor. You can often get away with very little equipment to start and simply add to it as you become more experienced with working out and your budget increases. For those who are new to working out, one of the best purchases can be a home gym system. These all in one equipment packages feature attachments that will allow you to work your entire body with one machine. Because of this, your home gym may end up being much smaller than if you had many pieces of equipment. Those who are a little more advanced may look to include free weights in their home gym setup.

For those that want to go the free weight route, you'll want to put down some padded flooring in the room you choose. Padded flooring can be bought in squares that are approximately 2' x 2' and join together like pieces of a puzzle. Oftentimes, you get all the workout you need just by buying a set of dumbbells and an adjustable bench. Just about every exercise known to man can be done with dumbbells and as long as you get weights that go up to a high enough number to allow you to make progress, your simple but effective home gym can last you months if not years with no improvements. For those that are looking to put on serious mass with their muscle building routines, you may want to purchase a weight bench and or a squat rack. Ample room is required for these larger pieces of equipment so locating a free weight gym in a basement or garage is usually the best idea.

But a home gym is really anything that you make it. Some people simply want to lose a little fat and may only have an exercise bike and some strength bands. The most important thing to include in your home gym is yourself. Make a commitment to work out in your private space each and every day. Now that you don't have to worry about the price of gas or working getting to the gym into your schedule, you can make a lifelong commitment to working out in your own private home gym.

Bodybuilding Tip to Shed Excess Fat from your Body

Losing excess fat has been the goal of just about every man and woman at some point in their life. It seems we’re always fighting the Battle of the Bulge and looking for better and easier ways to lose fat quickly. This is never truer than it is for bodybuilders or those who simply want to look their best. Excess fat will ruin the physique of even the most active individuals. Working to shed those pounds not only makes you look better, but it can have a profound effect on your overall health as well. Let's look at some of the ways that bodybuilders and extremely active individuals work to trim fat and get into incredibly ripped shape.

The fact is, it's not just a simple as exercising consistently to lose all the fat that you want. While exercising can get rid of significant amounts of fat, the real keys to losing excess fat and getting into ripped bodybuilding shape is a combination of doing the RIGHT exercises and having a near perfect diet. I know that sounds scary, but it's simply the truth. You could work out all day on an elliptical machine and not lose any fat at all or eat what you think is a healthy diet and actually gain weight. It takes knowing the right things and doing them consistently to make a difference.

First let's start with exercise. Simply lifting weights or doing some aerobic exercise, while it will get you part of the way there, is not enough to truly get rid of fat. One of the best fat burning exercises in existence is called HIIT. This stands for High Intensity Interval Training and it is used by professional athletes of all types to get into incredible cardiovascular shape as well as get their bodies into ripped physical condition. The principle is simple, you simply exercise at intervals that consist of about two minutes of light to medium intensity aerobic exercise followed by about 30 seconds of all out intense exercise. This is the equivalent of jogging for about two minutes and then sprinting for 30 seconds. That would represent one interval and you repeat these intervals until you complete about 6 to 8. Because of the intensity, most folks cannot handle this type of training early in their regimens. It is only after months of seriously intense aerobic exercise that you can begin these workouts. Once you do though, you will see fat fall off you more quickly than anything that you've tried before and your body will stay in this fat burning state for 10 hours after the exercises have been completed.

The next area is nutrition of course. Many folks try calorie and nutrient restricted diets to trim fat and end up trimming muscle instead. You see, your body is designed to use a combination of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in such a way as to maintain proper functionality, consistent levels of energy, and consistent or increasing levels of muscle. When you take anything out of that equation it can disrupt this balance and lead you to experiencing the opposite results of which you wish to achieve. If you focus on eating a diet that is high in protein, followed by fats and carbohydrates, you can continue to have the energy you need and nutrients your muscles need to continue to grow and maintain your physique. In addition, as long as you are burning off these calories and not eating excessively then you should be able to maintain consistent fat loss.

Losing Motivation?

Many times in my over twenty years as a personal trainer, I have seen clients make awesome progress with regard to following the customized eating plan I give them only to become complacent and slip back into the unhealthy dietary habits that brought them to the point of desperation. The question is how do we maintain the mindset that created success with regard to weight loss. The answer is that we must unswervingly focus on the end goal we established when we began on the program. Let's say a client comes to me who weighs two-hundred and fifty pounds and he desires to take his weight down to two hundred pounds. The client, in order to remain motivated, must constantly, reaffirm the commitment he originally made to drop his weight to two hundred pounds.

I firmly believe in using weight loss related mantras in order to stay motivated. The question is what is a mantra? A mantra is a constantly repeated saying which will affirm the client's goals until the mantra becomes a part of the client's belief system. Is this brainwashing? Maybe, but for thousands of years this has been a method which has been used in religion and in education to form belief systems and ingrain powerful and useful truths. In their spare time, I instruct my clients to constantly repeat the success mantra until it becomes such a part of them that nothing could stop them from achieving their weight loss goal.

Another power technique involves obtaining a picture of a body which is representative of what the client's end goal is regarding appearance. Every day that picture should be looked at, and I instruct the client to spend one half hour creating a mental picture of themselves with this goal body. This technique is called visualization and if practiced with regularity will never fail to aid in the quest to remain motivated.

In order achieve success in their fitness program it is necessary for the client to dedicate themselves in totality in achieving their goals. Success only comes when a person dedicates themselves unreservedly in the pursuit of their goal. No negative self talk can be tolerated; examples of this would be "I have never been able to go more than two weeks on a weight loss diet," or "I will always be fat," statements such as these are the exact opposite of the success mantra described previously in this article. Success mantras, if diligently practiced, will drown out negative self talk. Negative self talk is the number one enemy of program success and must be overcome by diligent practice of the techniques mentioned previously in this article.

Success is a certainty if motivation is maintained and I hope the motivational techniques mentioned in this article will enable you to achieve success in your weight loss endeavor.

Bodybuilding Is Not Just For Posers

When someone says the word bodybuilding, we tend to think of huge muscled phenomenons standing on stage covered in oil wearing only tiny bikini briefs, but it is only a rare few who commit to the dedication and determination it takes to get their bodies into this freakishly huge state. The fact is, just about anyone can benefit from the principles of bodybuilding both from the aspect of how you look as well as your overall health.

Bodybuilding is simply the process of building muscles and losing fat to accentuate the overall musculature of your body. It is extremely unlikely that you will accidentally build a huge and hulking body just from lifting a few weights which is often the fear of those who stay away from them. It takes years of intense dedication and hours of grueling workouts per day to achieve the physiques of those you see standing on stages, not to mention the occasional illegal chemical helper as well. But just going down to your local gym and deciding to begin a bodybuilding routine to help develop and maximize your physique is not only a great idea, it may lead you to an increased sense of satisfaction and a healthier longer life as well.

Bodybuilding exercises are simply any exercise at all that will allow you to build muscle. Push-ups, for instance, are an incredible bodybuilding exercise that will allow you to build the muscles of your chest, triceps, and shoulders. You can perform them anywhere and they help to build a strong and well-defined chest and shoulder region that can be very effective at turning others' heads.

Of all the bodybuilding exercises in existence, none is perhaps more effective than the King of all exercises, the squat. Performed by lifting a barbell on your shoulders and squatting down until your thighs are parallel with the ground and then rising back up, the squat is known as a compound movement. It can work to build the muscles of your entire lower body and many of those in your upper body as well. It takes extreme physical determination to squat with heavy weights but the payoff can be huge. Squats not only allow you to build muscle but they are great way to burn fat considering how much energy is expended performing this exercise. Combining squats with push-ups and perhaps even pull-ups can provide you all the bodybuilding results you need to get into incredible shape and totally transform the look of your entire body.

When choosing to make bodybuilding a part of your exercise regimen, it's important to pay attention to your diet as well. It almost seems senseless to work hard to build big muscles, and then cover them up with thick layers of fat. You want to eat a diet that contains plenty of lean protein and is lower in fat and carbohydrates. These last two nutrients are important for energy, but you want to limit them to avoid excess fat gain.

There you have it. ANYONE can improve the look of their body through bodybuilding and increase their health as well. Don’t worry about the trunks, the oil, or the posing, just pick up some weights, and you’ll be a bodybuilder too!

Fat Burning Cardiovascular Exercises

What is the best form of cardiovascular exercise for my personal training clients? The answer to that question differs depending on the physical goals of the individual client. A general answer to the question is that the ideal form of cardiovascular training is a form which has the most rewards while minimizing the risks.

The treadmill is probably the most popular form of cardio being done at gyms and fitness centers today. If one walks on the treadmill on a flat grade the risk to injury is minimal but in most cases the rewards are minimal. Under these conditions few calories are burned and it is too high impact for the extremely deconditioned or obese. Walking slow on the flat treadmill with no grade has minimal risks for everyone but also few rewards as it does not burn enough calories to signifigantly reduce bodyfat. There are two ways to increase the efficacy of working on a treadmill, one is by increasing the rate of speed of which the exercise is done at; you can start jogging or running at will. Jogging and running are very potent exercises when it comes to calorie burning but both of them put a great deal stress on the knees and lower back . The unconditioned, injured and seniors should not take up running because it is too hard on the joint, bones and connective tissue. Secondly, treadmill work can be increased in intensity by increasing the degree of grade that is walked at, this becomes the equivalent of walking hills or mountains outside. Incline treadmill walking is an effective calorie and fat burner but it can be problematic for trainees with lower back, knee or foot issues. As you can see the treadmill has its positives and negatives. Using this an your main type of cardio will depend on any limiting factors due to injuries and how much endurance you have.

Stationary cycling is another very common form of cardio being done at gyms today. Stationary cycling has the same pros and cons as riding the bike outside. I believe cycling is most definitely superior to jogging and running because you can burn a lot of calories without the extreme pounding to the knees and back that the body receives from jogging and running. To a lesser degree however a lot of stress to the knees and back can be generated by intense cycling also.

I favor the elliptical machine due it's non-impact nature and large range of motion. you can vary the ramp, resistance and speed to target the largest lower body muscles without straining the spine or joints. It is possible to really turn up the intensity level of your training with minimal risk of injury. In short there is a superior form of cardio and that form is elliptical training.
